Katie Boylan

BSN, MSN, CNP and Founder of CWFM

Since I was a child I aspired to be a doctor. Some of my earliest and fondest memories include fixing and caring for sick animals on our family farm. When I first entered the healthcare field it was for the love of medicine, science and the complexity of the human body and mind; however, I soon realized that I love the people I help even more. This love has driven me to open a practice that is patient focused not provider driven.

This is why I strive to provide not just quality health but also make your appointment focused on you and all your health needs. I take the time to listen to you and what you need from a provider to improve your health. I believe our patient provider relationship is not a unilateral one but a collaboration to help keep you healthy. As a team, we decide what direction to take to better manage your overall health.

I was an independent, solo practice. However, CWFM continues to grow and we have had the pleasure of adding several new providers to offer better coverage and a variety of scheduling options to meet your needs. Please visit our Team Page to find out more about the providers who share the same values and beliefs consistent with our quality of care.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

I have 12 years of experience in different areas of health. My primary focus was intensive care and emergency medicine with a speciality in rural health and family practice.

I started my career at age 17 while still in high school and received my emergency medical technician degree from the University of New Mexico.

During my undergraduate degree I worked in the mental health field as a suicide prevention counselor and intern at the neuroscience intensive care unit at the University of New Mexico Hospital.

After graduation from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science Nursing I worked full- time in an underserved area as a registered nurse. At the same time, I was completing my clinical Doctorate from the University of Arizona and was an assistant teacher of genetics.

I began my career as a provider in internal medicine for one of only several programs in the nation providing high acuity care in the home. Our program generated research that is under publication to serve as a model for other hospitals.

I now operate my own medical clinic and still see patients on a limited bases. I am AANP Certified and follow National Standards for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions and promote health education. I also offer patients alternatives to Western Medicine and natural remedies to their health if they prefer.

A little MORE about me…..

My medical interests includes autoimmune diseases and mental health. I also enjoy working with teenagers!

As part of improving patients’ overall health, I have also created a one of a kind medical, weight management program. The program is currently showing impressive, statistical health benefits. I am transitioning some from seeing patients to spend more time focusing on this groundbreaking program.

My passions include medical missions and helping deliver healthcare to those not able to receive it freely or regularly.

I enjoy spending time with family, the outdoors, gardening, running, climbing fishing and keeping busy…..
